Everyone has been to a museum, but not everyone has been to an event at a museum. Indianapolis is home to many unique and entertaining museums. From the Power of Children and Indiana’s indigenous people, to interactive outdoor art sculptures—Indianapolis has it all! Snappening has compiled a list of some of our favorite Indianapolis museums that can serve as the thought-inspiring backdrop for any type of event!

1. The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

Whether you’re a kid or just want to act like a kid, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is a colorful and entertaining museum. The Children’s Museum has space for events of any size. It could be for as little as six guests or even as many as 6,000 enjoying five fun floors of the museum. The Carousel Wishes & Dreams Gallery, Fireworks of Glass Chihuly Ceiling or Take Me There Gallery will give your event flair unlike any other. The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis offers a team of nationally recognized chefs, unique settings and interactive exhibits and free garage parking for your wedding, fundraiser, graduation party or conference! Plus, since it’s only minutes away from the heart of downtown Indy, it’s an ideal location for out-of-town guests and conference attendees looking for a special way to spend the day or evening socializing.

2. Eiteljorg Museum

The Eiteljorg Museum is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest, and one of only two museums east of the Mississippi that showcase both Native American and Western art, culture and history. Guests can explore galleries of rare objects from Indiana’s indigenous people, Native American art and artifacts and more contemporary art. The museum features four different tiers of spaces for a reception, product launch or holiday party. This allows event planners to select the amount of space and museum location best suited for their party size and attendee profile.

3. Indianapolis Art Center and ArtsPark

Centrally located in the hip and exciting Broad Ripple Village Cultural District, the Indianapolis Art Center is a prime location for a special event! The Art Center is great for weddings, but can also be reserved for birthday parties and team building activities too! ArtsPark, designed by Hoosier native and world–renowned architect Michael Graves, brings art, artists and the community together through interactive sculptures in an open-air setting. Along with outdoor settings, the Art Center offers indoor facilities as well, such as a library, galleries and auditorium. The Indianapolis Art Center and Arts Park is an interactive venue full of inspiration and art.

4.NCAA Hall of Champions

The NCAA Hall of Champions is a unique and sporty location for board meetings, themed functions, weddings or birthday parties. Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the newly renovated NCAA Hall of Champions features high ceilings, tall windows, architectural nuances, dramatic lighting and both auditorium and conference room space. The affiliation with White River State Park allows the flexibility to accommodate parties of even greater sizes.

Whether you’re planning a large corporate party or an intimate wedding reception, their event planners can help make your event one to remember.
