From the most thoughtful birthday presents to amazing home-cooked meals, our moms are the women who made us the event-planning experts that we are! We’d be fools to not go crazy for their special day this year! Good thing the city of Indy is buzzing with fun and unique events, exhibits and meals Mother’s Day weekend that mom will love!
Making Mother’s Day Memorable
Make it an event for the ages with a visit to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential site and Morris-Butler House as part of the Stroll into Spring Progressive Dinner. Enjoy a tour of each house and a five-course meal that your mom will appreciate. Make reservationsonline for the May 6 event.
Do you have little ones that are part of the tradition? The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is hosting—what better—a tea party for the moms and kids of Indy on May 7 at two convenient times. Pinky’s up—there is nothing like a tea-time brunch for moms to get persnickety with their etiquette lessons.
Your mom will be talking about this event for years to come—Indy’s Old World Goldoliers, Inc. are offering gondola rides on the Canal for only $30 per person this weekend. Plus, mothers with reservations will receive a free rose. If that’s not the classiest thing you can do in Indy, we don’t know what is.
Let your brunch destination next Sunday wow the guests of honor! The most delicious spots in Indy are making Mother’s Day their own with these midday events. The hardest part will be picking where to go!
For a super classy brunch, The Skyline Club is offering a special public brunch Sunday with both 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. seatings. Shula’s Steakhouse has both breakfast and brunch buffets. If you’re on a budget, wake up early and get to Shula’s for breakfast. The impressive menu is sure to surpass the unbeatable $13.95 a person! The Oceanaire Seafood Room is opening at noon for the ultra-classy late risers and offering a full menu with poached eggs and brioche French toast brunch specials.
For more relaxed moms, Euphoria and Creation Café at Buggs Temple is the place to be. They’re offering a relatively inexpensive Mother’s Day Brunch with delicious menu options like spinach, ham and tomato quiche, fresh biscuits and gravy and French toast, not to mention a full selection of traditional holiday brunch grub. 120 West Market Fresh Grill (822-5914 for reservations) is another good option—their 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. brunch offers complimentary mimosas and champagne, not to mention flexibility on time.
With all these great options, the hardest part will be deciding what mom will like best! And we don’t want to nag you, but it may be time to start making those reservations.
