How do you create bohemian seaside wedding style?

April Turner, planner and stylist of Vintage Florals and Design and photographer of Mint Forever Photography, knows exactly how, and it’s precisely what she’s done with this lovely white-themed styled shoot.

Today’s Snappening Lovin’ Local feature comes by way of beach-filled Florida with a touch of musical magic (did you see that cool guitar?), a whole lotta dreams to be caught with that oversized dream catcher under that tepee and a stroll through a feather-filled setting that’s not too fussy, and perfectly elegant.

This bohemian seaside wedding styled shoot is just the right amount of sophistication combined with a simplicity that makes you feel immediately relaxed and part of an intimate love affair. Brides who want this feel are sure to be inspired by this post to conjure up some of their very own bohemian seaside dreams too.

Boho Vibe 101: Selecting just the right spot.

Redington Beach, Fl. serves as today’s backdrop, but certainly any sandy destination could offer couples and their attendees a similar look and feel for a bohemian seaside wedding.

When selecting your own beach-side location, be certain you’re picking a spot that has defined event requirements and permitting capabilities. You should also consider having a backup location in mind for your outdoor wedding just in case there happens to be an unforeseen weather incident that creeps up and causes you grief.

Also find out about small details like seating for your guests, sound ordinances for music and what items you’re allowed to bring to the beach, provided you remove them when you’re finished.

Boho Vibe 102: Setting just the right mood.

“Ethan and Caitlin have special kind of love that’s pure magic; I love that I was able to capture that in my photos.” — April Turner, Mint Forever Photography

April included Caitlin and Ethan as models for this styled shoot because they already had such an amazing connection.

She adds, “I wanted this shoot to be romantic, fun, and the photos to really show the connection between the two of them. I’m a lifestyle photographer so I love to capture the true connections, feelings, and moments in my work.”

Setting the right mood is an important part of any seaside wedding and since the couple already naturally had a very laid-back style and lived a “boho” life, this beach setting made perfect sense.

The light and airy feel the beach offered was a natural fit. Combined with the all-natural colors in this palette, the bright white sand coupled with the muted ocean tones gave the entire shoot a polished feel that still left enough room for the boho vibe.

Boho Vibe 103: Adding just the right touches.

The entire inspiration for this shoot was “white and natural”. This required a very “clean look” absent of a lot of color. This approach was followed in the floral arrangement with a focus on greenery and minimal flowers and neutral feathers.

The table is purposefully low to the ground with an emphasis on pillows (as opposed to standard chairs) to really amp up the relaxed “boho” feel.

The teepee was April’s absolute favorite look for the shoot, as she felt it really added that extra “boho” element. Etui and Co. provided the custom invitation suite and menus for the table setting, and menus were purposefully made from cloth to further underscore a more natural look and feel.

The custom three-tier cake was provided by The Starfish Cottage and the groom’s bespoke wooden ring was crafted by Surrounded by Wild.
