What defines a vintage chic vineyard wedding?
Romance is blooming in today’s Snappening Lovin’ Local blog featuring a little wine, a blushing bride, vintage charm and a whole lotta flowers. With its earthy tones and natural backdrop, see how this Pennsylvania vineyard was transformed into the perfect location for a vintage chic vineyard wedding.
We sat down with Abbe Foreman of Abbe Foreman Photography (who both captured this vintage chic vineyard wedding shoot and served as shoot planner) to learn more about the inside scoop on how her vision came to life along with the help of stylist, Ashley Meyers.
Even though this was Abbe’s first styled shoot, she was able to easily capture the essence of of a “vintage chic vineyard wedding” with the help of so many incredible vendors, including the team at The Inn at Grace Winery in Glen Mills, Pa. Not only did the vendors make a powerful “can-do” team, real-life engaged couple Shana and Jim, made the day even more memorable and served as the perfect shoot models.
With the help of Abbe, we’ll walk you through the cornerstone elements of the shoot so you can plan your own vintage chic vineyard wedding no matter where you may be across the globe.
Floral Table Settings
A vineyard often creates a countryside ambience. So if you’re interested in replicating this look for your own wedding, consider choosing décor that has the same vintage, rustic vibe of wine country, paired with the understated elegance of traditional wedding components in small accents.
This beautiful head table takes center stage with its large florals and leaves. The large table garland was made by Re+Bloom Couture Florals in Doylestown, Pa. and features several varieties of eucalyptus (Parvifolia, seeded and silver dollar), as well as quince branches and hints of flowers from the bridal bouquet.
To keep it simple (yet elegant), the table is complete with circular plates, gold-trimmed silverware and wine goblets. The touches of gold are complete with the addition of a vintage-inspired lantern and gold chargers beneath the plates.
The simplicity of the dishes and gold accents allow guests to focus on the vintage chic vineyard wedding feel, while the floral table garland adds a splash of color against a gorgeous winery backdrop.
Small details such as the lantern, chairs and wine glasses match the winery’s simple natural setting and also complete the vintage theme of the shoot by adding a pop of simplicity to the overall tablescape.
Calligraphy Adds a Personal Touch
Every wedding look involves setting the right mood with the right invitation and paperie.
Your wedding invitation is also your guests’ first peek into your wedding day, so why not make it stand out?
For this vintage chic vineyard wedding styled shoot, artist Samantha Allen embraced the spring theme with pastels and various pinks. Allen purchased handmade cotton paper from Fabulous Fancy Pants and hand painted the invitation design using watercolors.
She then added her personal touch to each invitation by adding custom calligraphy. The limitless combination of stationery, watercolors and calligraphy is a simple way to make your own vintage chic vineyard wedding theme feel uniquely special.
“Shana and Jim are an actually engaged couple which made everything more dreamy! Jim even cried when he first saw his bride to be.”-Abbe
Blooms, Groom, and a Blushing Bride
A great perk of choosing a winery venue for your special day is the neutral color palette which is very easy to complement with you own wedding color scheme.
These simple outdoor colors and tones afford you the creative freedom to select floral arrangements that are perfect for your own unique wedding style and vision. Krista Sherkey, floral designer of Re+Bloom Couture Florals, used a variety florals for the brideís bouquet to take advantage of this setting.
Sherkey designed this vintage chic vineyard wedding bouquet with spring colors in mind. She combined bright pink, blue and green to create a natural feel. Blooms and greenery include Mirabella Garden Roses, Anthurium, Larkspur and eucalyptus.
It’s also important that the formal wear match the setting and theme of the wedding. Bride Shana’s dress was designed by Hayley Paige and features ample tulle and floral details on the bodice, making it a perfect choice for a springtime vintage chic vineyard wedding. Groom, Jim, is in a navy-blue suit that was designed by J.Hilburn. Both choices further tie into the wedding color palette and offer a natural, yet chic feel and look.
Picture Perfect Details
No wedding would be complete without dessert and a little sparkle. This custom three-tier cake was created and designed by Pretty Tasty Cupcake in Conshohoken, Pa.
The cake maintains the same floral, pastel and gold themes that were introduced in the bouquet, tablescape and formal wear.
The bride also added her own little sparkle with the help of Haute Bride who provided jewelry. She honored the mantra “less is more,” and focused on earrings as her key accessory. The ring shown here is from Shana’s personal collection. (Jim sure did a great job on picking that ring, right?)
No look would be complete without hair and makeup. Shana’s look was done by Heather Vellner and made her look stunning.
The light pink velvet ring box was provided by The Mrs. Box.
Jim and Shana are tying the knot in June 2019, so grab your tissues because this was only a practice round! Photographer Abbe said that the real and raw emotion is rare to see in these styled shoots but this is one she won’t soon forget.
