Snappening marries philanthropic clothing drive with restaurant industry for spring Charities of Choice campaign

Snappening.com, an Indiana Restaurant Association member organization, has designated Dress for Success Indianapolis, and their Send One Suit Week campaign as its spring Charity of Choice. From April 16 to April 20, Dress for Success Indianapolis will hold their Send One Suite (S.O.S) Week Drive.  S.O.S. Week allows businesses or individuals to collect one (1) suite, one (1) blouse and one (1) gift to benefit Dress for Success Indianapolis. On average, about 40% of Dress for Success Indianapolis’ annual suit need is met through S.O.S. Week donations. The suits, blouses and monetary contributions secured from the campaign Dress for Success Indianapolis to empower women in our community be economically independent and thrive in work and life.

Snappening approached the hospitality industry specifically about becoming more closely involved with this fun, easy and meaningful event because a number of female hospitality professionals, including many in the restaurant industry, have professional attire they can easily contribute to the campaign. Similarly, a number of Dress for Success Indianapolis clients serve roles within the hospitality industry.

What to donate
Snappening and Dress for Success Indianapolis are asking hospitality employees to consider the following types of specific clothing donations:
*    Professional gently used suites, blouses and slacks
*    Professional gently used “black and whites” for formal catering events
*    Professional gently used shoes that would coordinate with business wear, or catering wear

How to donate
Those interested in making a clothing donation, can do so directly downtown at the Conrad Indianapolis, located at 50 W Washington St or near the airport at Wyndham Indianapolis West (Nicolino’s Italian Restaurant), located at 2544 Executive Dr. Both locations will accept donations from April 16 – April 20, 2012. Donations can be directly dropped off at the valet circle, or taken to the front desk.
